Great call on Northern Wars[edit]

Hey I noticed the revert between you and Y on my watchlist. I see for some reason most of the articles include both wars, but the danish version for example, doesn't seem to mention the war in 1665. Another example is the Dutch. Besides that, most of the articles have very little mention of the 1665 war, and instead only include a bit of background info. Shouldn't these links be removed and left with only the articles on the 1665 war. Falphin 22:26, 1 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Knittel[edit]

I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Knittel, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Importance). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree, discuss the issues raised at Talk:Knittel. If you remove the {{dated prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. 24fan24 00:54, 14 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, I've removed the delete tag and replaced it with the {{move to Wiktionary}} tag. It's more appropriate. --Tuspm Talk | Contribs | E-Mail Me 01:37, 14 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Strausszek September 10, 2006 01:05 (CEST)

Ship transport[edit]

Hi, I am in the process of trying to find articles to link with a new australian maritime history project - and I am finding the heirarchy of water transport articles a bit like a hollow log. What could be the main articles are stub class and quality - I am also quite bothered by the fact that what could be a 'lead article' is so limited in its title - as 'ship' is very militing - I looked at the history of the ship transport article - and thought I'd ask you what you'd think about a change - what do you think? AfD nomination of List of boy bands[edit]

I've nominated List of boy bands, an article you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but in this particular case I do not feel that List of boy bands satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion; I have explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of boy bands and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of List of boy bands during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Blueboy96 16:36, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Little context in Marine architecture[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Marine architecture, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Marine architecture is very short providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Marine architecture, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. You were kind enough to put in a link to Toilet History. I did move it, but didn't change it. Unfortunately, when I click on the link it doesn't seem to go anywhere. Could you please figure out what you want, so we can have a more effective linke, and put it in.

Thank you.

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Explorer Vodka, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. A tag has been placed on Pung Kuk EDM Wire Manufacturing Co. requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for companies and corporations.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Vianello (talk) 08:52, 4 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Vital list[edit]

I saw you had previously proposed a great swap, which I don't think ever happened. What is going on with this? I am currently interested in making some changes to the list mainly in the biography section. Currently, over 10% of the most important people listed are mathematician???!!!!! Also of the 115, 30 are not included in the 200 Category:Top-priority biography articles. Currently, with the overabundance of mathameticians and absence of athletes I am seeking comment on the four most vital people from Kurt Gödel, David Hilbert, Henri Poincaré, Alan Turing, Jackie Robinson, Jesse Owens, Muhammad Ali, Pelé, and Michael Jordan.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 17:59, 4 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This does nothing to help the reader gain reliable information about barbers' or hairdressers' chairs; all it does it fill in a redlink, but this is a minimal achievement. Long boom / Golden Age of Capitalism / Post-World War II economic boom[edit]

Hi Yvwv,

Thanks for your extensive work at Long boom / Golden Age of Capitalism / Post-World War II economic boom!

The "Golden Age" and "Post-War" articles cover, to my eye, the same phenomenon, and hence would benefit from being merged, though there is some question as to what title should be used for the combined article -- you argue (correctly, to my eye) that "Post-War" is more neutral, though others argue (also correctly) that "Golden Age" is widely used. I've started a discussion at Talk:Golden Age of Capitalism#Merge Post-World War II, which I reckon you'd be interested in contributing to.

Hello Yvwv! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 4 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 937 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

You are now a Reviewer[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 18:37, 17 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your contributed article, History of hides[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, History of hides. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as yourself. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - Hide (skin). Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Hide (skin) - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think that the article you created should remain separate, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. AndrewWTaylor (talk) 10:44, 16 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Sift[edit]

The article Sift has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The definition of "sift" is adequately given in Wiktionary.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Long-time nuclear waste warning messages. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waste_Isolation_Pilot_Plant#Warning_messages_for_future_humans. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waste_Isolation_Pilot_Plant#Warning_messages_for_future_humans – you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. FreeatlastChitchat (talk) 14:00, 29 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
