Walden[1] (formerly titled The Stenographer)[2] is a 2023 American thriller film written and directed by Mick Davis and starring Emile Hirsch and Shane West.

Plot[edit]

Walden Dean is an unassuming 3rd generation court stenographer in a small southern town. When he discovers he is dying, he decides to exact revenge on criminals who escaped their prosecution, whilst at the same time trying to understand why the disappearance of several young boys has so far gone undetected

The film was released in limited theaters on November 10, 2023.[1]

Reception[edit]

Jon Mendelsohn of Comic Book Resources gave the film a negative review, calling it “a mishmash of tones that doesn't work as a thriller, but the film's unexpected quirks keep it watchable.”[4]
