Wang Tao (Chinese: 王涛; pinyin: Wáng Tāo, born on 5 March 2002), also known as Wang Xingyue (Chinese: 王星越; pinyin: Wángxīng Yuè), is a Chinese actor. He is known for his roles in Your Sensibility My Destiny (2021), Delicacies Destiny (2022) and Scent of Time (2023).[1][2]
Early life and career[edit]
Wang Xingyue was born Wang Tao on March 5, 2002, in Yueyang, Hunan, China. He graduated from the Performance Department of the Central Academy of Drama.[3] During his college years, he participated in numerous stage plays and auditioned for the anti-drug public welfare project’s film during his sophomore year. He was selected and successfully filmed his first movie. He officially entered showbiz in 2019 with his participation in the anti-drug public welfare film Deep Water, where he played a main role.
On May 31, 2020, he officially signed a contract with Huanyu Entertainment.[4][5] The same year, he appeared in the drama You Complete Me. In 2021, he appeared in the television dramas One and Only and Your Sensibility My Destiny.[6]
In 2022, Wang played lead role of Crown prince Zhu Shoukui in the historical fiction drama Delicacies Destiny. The series became the first original Chinese-language series on the Disney+ streaming platform.[7]
In 2023, Wang gained increased attention and popularity for his role as Zhong Xiwu in the romantic web drama Scent of Time, based on Qi Yueli’s novel “The Female Supporting Role” (洗铅华).[8][9]
