I am nominating this for featured list because it covers the topic of current Louisiana state parks well and provides short, encyclopedic information with images for each park. Almost every piece of information is cited. I tried hard to find a citation for every year, but for 2, I just couldn't. I know the years are close though.   • Lead, at one para, is too short. It should adequately summarise the whole article.
    • What is missing from the article lead? I feel right now it adequately summarizes what the article is about. Do you want a history? Michael miceli (talk) 02:09, 12 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Ensure all "remarks" that are complete sentences have a full stop.
  • "Date Founded" -> Date founded.
  • Some of the phrases in the remarks are unknown to me (e.g. tupelo, bottomland... ) - any suitable links for them?
  • "it has a surface area of 6,400 acres (2,590 ha)" in a pakr the size of 643 acres?

  • First general ref has two full stops.
  • Don't mix date formats in the refs.

  • Use en-dashes, not spaced hyphens in the reference titles.
  • Be consistent with author names, is it First Last or Last, First?

  • I think the "Other names" section should be incorporated into the main table's remarks column.

  • The two dates which are unreferenced really need to be referenced.

Comments –
  • The lead is very short at only one paragraph. For a decent-size list, I'd expect to see at least a two-paragraph lead, which should be doable. You could add items like the earliest and most recently opened park to help beef the lead up.

  • "a division of Louisiana Deparment of Culture, Recreation and Tourism." Could use "the" before Louisiana.
  • Same goes for the next-to-last sentence of the lead, before Louisiana State Parks and Recreation Committee.
  • In the table headings, Park Name should have the second word decapitalized.
  • Cypremort State Park: The two en dashes in the remarks should both be hyphens instead. Similar fixes are needed for Grand Isle State Park, Hodges Gardens State Park, and Poverty Point Recreation State Park.
  • In the second table, it would be nice to have dashes of some kind for the two blank columns.
  • Personally, I'd feel more comfortable with the list if each of the remarks was sourced, instead of just having a note at the end linking to a general site. Having specific cites makes it easier to verify facts, which is the whole point of having sources in the first place.
  • Ref 4 needs an en dash for the page range.
  • Refs 23, 24, 30, and 31 need publishers in the citations.
  • Ref 34 could use the PDF designiation that a couple other cites have.

  • "After The State Parks Commission of Louisiana was formed in 1934". No need to capitalize "The".
  • In the next sentence, last parts of "Sam Houston Jones state park" should be capitalized.
  • Contraction that should be fixed: "weren't".
    • Complete, I reworked the sentence to be more natural. Now says (with changes in bold) "In 1966, the National Park Service reviewed Louisiana's state parks system and made many recommendations, which led to specific guidelines and requirements for state parks. Over time, many state parks that did not meet these guidelines were either reclassified as state historic sites or were turned over to local or state agencies." --Michael miceli (talk) 17:42, 13 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
