Shrimp farm[edit]

Most people I know like to eat shrimps, but only few know where they come from or how they are produced. I once left a quick comment on some talk page and was challenged in a friendly way to add the info to Wikipedia. I quickly discovered that my initial summary was quite accurate, but the wealth of information kept me occupied for a few whole weeks. Here's the result of my attempts to structure it all. At 34kB, the article is approaching its size limit, but still... is there anything important I forgot to mention? A grammar check would be nice, too, and if you have other suggestions for improvements, just say so! Lupo 10:21, August 8, 2005 (UTC)

These farms are known as Gei Wai or Gei-wai in Chinese. Btw, I think there should be some more technologies about how the farms are set up and why, e.g. why the farmers usually pick areas near the sea for starting up a shrimp farm. -- Jerry Crimson Mann 20:12, 8 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Good link describing an extensive farm, thanks. As to why coastal areas: I had thought it was obvious—they need salt water. I'll see what I can add. Lupo 11:35, August 9, 2005 (UTC)

Gee, thanks! Next week, though, please: I want Taxman to give a chance to comment, and he's absent until August 15th. Lupo 14:37, August 11, 2005 (UTC)
Thank you both. The article is now on FAC. Lupo 09:26, August 15, 2005 (UTC)
