Promotion[edit]

We need to make a template saying "This page is part of the CHERUB and Henderson's Boy's task force" ETC. Also we need to expand and invite new users. Preceding unsigned comment added by RTY1998 (talk) • (contribs) (talk) 19:37, 31 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If you like, I can work on a member's userbox (as opposed to the current one which is just about being a fan of the series) and have a go at making a template for talk pages, although I think there is a way to fix the WP:YA template to include task forces. Someone might want to message anyone who has edited CHERUB articles recently e.g. more than once in the last 6 months, but I don't have time to do that until the weekend. strdst_grl (call me Stardust) 14:28, 1 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The talk page template (an adaptation of the WP:YA one) is currently being tested at User talk:Strdst grl/ubx/sandbox. Please suggest any changes that should be made before I request an edit to the WP:YA template. At the moment, this works by adding |CHERUB=yes to any existing WP:YA template. strdst_grl (call me Stardust) 15:04, 1 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I think the CHERUB logo should be bigger and it should go into more detail. Can I edit it? Preceding unsigned comment added by RTY1998 (talk) • (contribs) (talk) 20:17, 1 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Feel free, but please make sure you revert the edits if they don't come out okay. strdst_grl (call me Stardust) 21:26, 1 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Something's stoping me from editting it. Preceding unsigned comment added by RTY1998 (talk) • (contribs) (talk) 21:34, 1 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know what that could be... If you give me the message you want to switch to, then I should be able to put it in (I've already upped the image size. strdst_grl (call me Stardust) 10:21, 2 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

In related news, I've made a task-force specific userbox and I'm trying to scout out people who might be interested in joining. Can we make a list? So far, I've got User:Greg Tyler and User:Arwel Parry as being people with a large number of edits to Henderson's Boys, plus User:Kyriakos, User:Trampikey, User:Nuclear froggy and User:G.Emerson from CHERUB but a one-article approach is probably going to miss a lot of people... strdst_grl (call me Stardust) 11:11, 2 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'll work on an invitation template. Rock drum (talk·contribs·guestbook) 17:32, 2 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It's in my sandbox. Take a look. Rock drum (talk·contribs·guestbook) 17:50, 2 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Looks great. Now we just need some people to send it to... strdst_grl (call me Stardust) 18:35, 2 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'll put it in a proper place and send it to some of the people named above. Rock drum (talk·contribs·guestbook) 18:59, 2 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Done I've invited all of the people named above. I know there will be more but I've got to log off soon so will probably not be able to do them. Rock drum (talk·contribs·guestbook) 19:14, 2 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Importance ratings[edit]

Since we can now specify a task force importance rating, I think we need some kind of scale to measure the importance by. For example, are any of the books more important than the others (e.g. Is CHERUB: The Recruit more important than CHERUB: The Sleepwalker?). Also, are the characters more or less important than the books? strdst_grl (call me Stardust) 17:59, 4 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'd say CHERUB, Henderson's Boys and Robert Muchamore are top. Books are high. Lists of characters and major characters are mid. Minor characters (if they have pages at all) are low. How does that sound? Rock drum (talk·contribs·guestbook) 18:16, 4 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I've rated according to that for now, but I'd say it still needs fine tuning - I'm not sure that James should be listed as less important than Mad Dogs, for example. strdst_grl (call me Stardust) 22:00, 5 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I can see you're thinkingbut, if I'm honest, I would say Mad dogs is more important than James. Sorry. Rock drum (talk·contribs·guestbook) 10:54, 6 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Directory[edit]

Does this project need to be listed on the WikiProject directory? Cheers. Rock drum (talk·contribs·guestbook) 19:27, 5 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The other task forces are, so I've added it under WP:CHL. Can you make sure I listed it correctly? strdst_grl (call me Stardust) 21:44, 5 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It looks about right, but I'm not sure how it should look! Rock drum (talk·contribs·guestbook) 10:35, 6 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

List of articles wanted[edit]

Since the number of existing articles is fairly low, should we establish a list of all the possibly notable aspects of the project which lack articles? It could be more helpful than a generalised task force request. strdst_grl (call me Stardust) 22:15, 5 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Good idea. I've set it up at Wikipedia:WikiProject Children's literature/CHERUB and Henderson's Boys task force/Requested articles. By the way, the invitation template is situated at Wikipedia:WikiProject Children's literature/CHERUB and Henderson's Boys task force/Invite. Cheers. I have managed to get this task force listed in the sidebar of next week's issue of the WikiProject report. I hope that this will assist with promotion. Thank you, Rock drum (talk·contribs·guestbook) 15:38, 8 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
