Description[edit]

A WikiProject designed to work on coverage of poultry on Wikipedia (including domestic Turkeys, domestic Quail, domestic Pheasants, Chickens, Ducks, domestic Guineafowl, Emus, Swans, Peafowl and Geese. This would most likely child WikiProject of Wikipedia:WikiProject Birds.

Why do you want to start a new group, instead of joining one of these existing groups?
WikiProject birds, although similar, does not specifically cover this topic, which is large enough to be its own WikiProject. And so I propose to create the a WikiProject to just that; cover the topic of Poultry. Anjwalker Talk 04:20, 4 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Due to the fact that these poultry articles live on the weird edge between WikiProject Agriculture and WikiProject Birds, I think it's fair to say that this topic deserves its own WikiProject assessment guide and all the other trappings.   • Per Steven Walling, these articles are in kind of a weird spot right now. There are actually more articles than those listed above that could be included. For example, see Category:Poultry farming and its subcats, Category:Brand name poultry, and Category:Poultry dishes. I would join, although I don't have as much source material for chickens as, for say, horses. Dana boomer (talk) 11:54, 4 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • I would join, as the WikiProject proposer and because poultry articles really need further coverage, and WikiProject Birds does not provide the support needed to continue the development of poultry articles, nor cover the topic properly. Anjwalker Talk 09:43, 7 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
