This page is part of the WikiProject on Handball and provides a list of known fully professional leagues, and also those that are known to not be fully professional. As such this article can be used as an aid in considering the WP:HB guideline, under its criteria as noted below. Leagues in italics are defunct.
International leagues[edit]
The following current and historical leagues are considered "international leagues" or the "highest level of competition extant" for the purpose of satisfying Criteria #1:
World – IHF Super Globe

- Europe – EHF Cup / Women's EHF Cup
- Europe – EHF Challenge Cup / Women's EHF Challenge Cup
- Europe – EHF Men's Champions Trophy / EHF Women's Champions Trophy
Pan-American – Pan American Men's Club Handball Championship / Pan American Women's Club Handball Championship
Oceania – Oceania Handball Champions Cup / Oceania Women's Handball Champions Cup

Top level leagues[edit]
The following current and historical leagues are considered "top professional leagues" or the "highest level of competition extant" for the purpose of satisfying Criteria #1 or #2:
Germany – Handball-Bundesliga / Handball-Bundesliga (women)
France – LNH Division 1 / French Women's Handball Championship
Spain – Liga ASOBAL / División de Honor Femenina de Balonmano
Fully professional minor leagues[edit]
The following current and historical leagues are considered "fully professional minor leagues" – or at the caliber of the same – for the purpose of satisfying Criterion #3:
Croatia – Croatian Premier Handball League / Croatian Premier League (women's handball)
Denmark – Danish Handball League / Danish Women's Handball League- Germany – 2. Handball-Bundesliga
- France – LNH Division 2 / French Second Division (women's handball)
Hungary – Nemzeti Bajnokság I (men's handball) / Nemzeti Bajnokság I (women's handball)- Spain – División de Plata de Balonmano / División de Plata de Balonmano (women)
Switzerland – Nationalliga A / Spar Premium League 1
Lower-level leagues[edit]
The following current and historical leagues are considered to be either a "lower minor league," a "major junior league" or a "major collegiate league" – or at the skill level of the same – for the purpose of satisfying Criterion #4.
- Denmark – Danish 1st Division (Handball) (men and women)
- Switzerland – Nationalliga B / Spar Premium League 2
United States – Team Handball League (men and women)
Those leagues not otherwise listed are considered to confer no presumptive notability to players, coaches, officials or executives, and articles about the same must explicitly demonstrate notability under the provisions of WP:GNG, WP:BIO or other valid notability criteria.
