The railroad of Amador Central Railroad Company, hereinafter called the carrier, is a single-track standard-gauge steam railroad located entirely within the State of California and extending from Ione to Martell, a distance of 11.794 miles. The carrier also owns yard and side tracks aggregating 2.748 miles. Its road thus embraces 14.542 miles of all tracks owned.


Corporate history and development of fixed physical property.—The carrier was incorporated September 24, 1908, under the general laws of California, for the purpose of acquiring the property, rights, and franchises of the Ione and Eastern Railroad Company. Its principal office is located at San Francisco, Calif. The carrier acquired the property of the Ione and Eastern Railroad Company by deed dated December 22, 1908, from Frank J. Solinsky, sr., purchaser in foreclosure proceedings of the property, rights, and franchises of the Ione and Eastern Railroad Company. Title had been acquired by Solinsky by deed dated December 18, 1908. The property was constructed by the Ione and Eastern Railroad Company, construction having begun in November, 1904, and completed in June, 1905.
