The railroad of the Ashley, Drew & Northern Railway Company, hereinafter called the carrier, is a single-track standard-gauge steam railroad located in southeastern Arkansas. The line extends from Crossett to Monticello, Ark., a distance of 41.154 miles. The carrier also owns 8.436 miles of yard tracks and sidings. Its road thus embraces 49.690 miles of all tracks owned. The entire railroad property is leased, on date of valuation, to The Arkansas & Louisiana Midland Railway Company.


The property of the carrier was operated by its own organization from September 25, 1912, to December 1, 1914. From the latter date to December 1, 1915, it was operated by the Arkansas, Louisiana & Gulf Railway Company. From December 1, 1915, to date of valuation it has been operated by The Arkansas & Louisiana Midland Railway Company.
