The Atlantic Port Railway Corporation, hereinafter called the carrier, owns no physical property. The operated property is leased from the Submarine Boat Corporation, a noncarrier, and consists of a standard-gage, steam railroad, located at Port Newark in the southeastern part of the city of Newark, N. J. The main line extends from a connection with the tracks of the Central Railroad Company of New Jersey and The Pennsylvania Railroad Company to the docks, wharves, and other terminal facilities operated by the Transmarine Lines on Newark Bay. The mileage consists of 0.907 mile of first main track, 1.364 miles of second main track and 16.959 miles of yard tracks and sidings. Its operated road thus embraces 19.230 miles of all tracks wholly used but not owned. The tracks and facilities are located on municipally owned land.

The carrier is an industrial corporation controlled by the Submarine Boat Corporation. It performs a general freight switching service between the foreign-line connections and the docks on Newark Bay operated by the Transmarine Corporation.

On May 4, 1920, the carrier was incorporated for the purpose of operating under lease the railroad property referred to. Operation by the carrier began May 21, 1920.
