The railroad of Beaver, Meade & Englewood Railroad Company, hereinafter called the carrier, is a single-track standard-gauge steam railroad located in the northern part of Oklahoma. The owned mileage extends northwesterly from Beaver to Forgan, a distance of 6.612 miles. The carrier also owns yard and side tracks totaling 0.832 mile. Its road operated by the carrier thus embraces 7.444 miles of all tracks owned. The grading is rather light, and the tracks are laid with 52 to 56 pound re-lay rail.


Corporate history.—To date of valuation the carrier had not maintained any accounting or financial records, the first books of account having been opened on January 1, 1919. The first annual report filed with us was for the year ended December 31, 1919. Although subsequent to date of valuation, certain information taken from that report appears in various sections of this report. The carrier was incorporated on January 19, 1912, under the general laws of Oklahoma. The property has always been operated by its own organization. The principal office is located at Beaver.
