The railroad of the Big Fork and Northern Railway Company, herein called the Big Fork and Northern, which is leased to and operated by the Minnesota and International, is a single-track, standard-gauge, steam railroad, extending from Northome to Grand Falls, Minn., a distance of 31.611 miles.

CORPORATE HISTORY

The Big Fork and Northern was incorporated February 20, 1905, under the general laws of the State of Minnesota, for the purpose of constructing and operating a railway from Northome to Koochiching, Minn. The date of organization of the Big Fork and Northern was March 3, 1905.

DEVELOPMENT OF FIXED PHYSICAL PROPERTY

The owned mileage of the Big Fork and Northern, extending from Northome to Great Falls, Minn., a distance of 31.611 miles, was constructed during the period from March 1, 1905, to December, 1905. Grading, bridging, and tracklaying were done under contract by A. Guthrie & Company, contractors, of St. Paul, Minn.
