The railroad of the Chestnut Hill Railroad Company, herein called the Chestnut Hill Railroad, is a double-tracked line extending from Germantown to Chestnut Hill, Pa., a distance of 3.993 miles.


CORPORATE HISTORY

The Chestnut Hill was incorporated July 11, 1851, under special act of Pennsylvania approved April 10, 1848. The date of organization was July 26, 1851.

DEVELOPMENT OF FIXED PHYSICAL PROPERTY

The owned mileage of the Chestnut Hill Railroad, amounting to 3.993 miles, was acquired by construction which was begun in June, 1851. The road was completed and opened for operation December 1, 1854.
