The railroad of the City of Prineville Railway, hereinafter called the carrier, is a single-track, standard-gage, steam railroad, located in the north-central part of Oregon. The main line extends in an easterly direction from Prineville Junction to Prineville, a distance of 18.340 miles. It also owns 1.755 miles of yard tracks and sidings. Its road thus embraces 20.095 miles of all tracks owned and used. Practically all of the rail and track material in use on this road is leased from the Oregon-Washington Railroad & Navigation Company, and the Oregon Trunk Railway. The carrier is a municipal railway constructed, owned, and operated by the city of Prineville. It is unincorporated.

CORPORATE HISTORY

The carrier is not incorporated. By an amendment to its charter, date unknown, the city of Prineville was authorized to issue bonds, the proceeds of which were used to construct the railroad.

DEVELOPMENT OF FIXED PHYSICAL PROPERTY

The entire property, with the exception of the rail and track fastenings leased from other carriers, was acquired by construction during the period April, 1917, to September 1918.
