The railroad of Copper Range Railroad Company, hereinafter called the carrier, is a single-track, standard-gauge steam railroad, located entirely within the State of Michigan, extending from Calumet to McKeever, with a branch, called the Lake Shore branch, extending from Mill Mine Junction to Freda. Below is given the mileage owned or used by the carrier. [table]

In Appendix 1 will be found a more complete description of the property of the carrier.


Corporate history.—The carrier was incorporated October 15, 1888, under the general laws of the State of Michigan, as the Northern Michigan Railroad Company. On February 20, 1899, its charter was amended and the corporate name changed to Copper Range Railroad Company. The detailed facts as to the development of fixed physical property are given in Appendix 2.
