Location and General Description of Property[edit]
The railroad of The Delaware, Susquehanna and Schuylkill Rail Road Company, herein called the Delaware, Susquehanna and Schuylkill, is a single-track line extending in a westerly direction from Eckley to Sheppton, Pa., with several short branches to coal-mine developments, in all 32.170 miles of road.
Introductory[edit]
The Delaware, Susquehanna and Schuylkill is a corporation of the State of Pennsylvania, having its principal office at Philadelphia, Pa. It is controlled by the Lehigh Valley through ownership of the entire outstanding capital stock. On the other hand, the records reviewed do not indicate that this company controls any common-carrier corporation.
The property of the Delaware, Susquehanna and Schuylkill was operated by its own organization during the period from April 14, 1892, to October 31, 1905. Since November 1, 1905, it has been operated by the Lehigh Valley.
Corporate History[edit]
The Delaware, Susquehanna and Schuylkill was incorporated April 14, 1890, under the general laws of the State of Pennsylvania, for the purpose of constructing, operating, and maintaining a railroad from Stockton Junction to Sheppton, Pa., with several branch lines. The date of organization of the Delaware, Susquehanna and Schuylkill was April 17, 1890.

Leased Railway Property[edit]
The property of the Delaware, Susquehanna and Schuylkill devoted to common-carrier purposes has been operated by the Lehigh Valley from November 1, 1905, to date of valuation. The Lehigh Valley makes no accounting to the Delaware, Susquehanna and Schuylkill, but includes the revenues and expenses with those from its own operations.
