Location and General Description of Property[edit]

The property of the Fort Worth and Denver Terminal Railway Company, herein called the Fort Worth and Denver Terminal Railway, consists of yard tracks and terminal facilities at Fort Worth, Tex. A small portion of this company's lands is leased to the Texas and Pacific Railway Company.

Introductory[edit]

The Fort Worth and Denver Terminal Railway is a corporation of the State of Texas, having its principal office at Fort Worth, Tex. This company did not maintain accounting records for the period from its incorporation in 1890 to June 30, 1907, and its corporate records were destroyed by fire on February 9, 1898. Certain information for this period has been taken from the records of the Fort Worth and Denver City. The Fort Worth and Denver Terminal Railway is controlled, through ownership of its entire outstanding capital stock, except directors' qualifying shares, by the Fort Worth and Denver City. On the other hand, the Fort Worth and Denver Terminal Railway, itself, does not control any other common-carrier corporations. Its property has been leased for operation to the Fort Worth and Denver City since the dates acquired by it.

Corporate History[edit]

The Fort Worth and Denver Terminal Railway was incorporated March 24, 1890, under the general laws of the State of Texas, for the stated purposes of acquiring and operating a "belt line and terminal railroad" in Fort Worth, Tex. It perfected its organization April 10, 1890.

Development of Fixed Physical Property[edit]

The owned property of this company was constructed for it by the Fort Worth and Denver City. The first property was constructed about 1890 and the remainder at various later dates.

Leased Railway Property[edit]

The property of the Fort Worth and Denver Terminal Railway has been leased for operation to the Fort Worth and Denver City for 99 years from December 1, 1907. The terms of the lease have been given in the leased railway property chapter of the report on the lessee.
