The Gulf & West Texas Railway Company herein called the Gulf & West Texas, as of December 31, 1931, had under construction a new line between Fredericksburg Junction and San Angelo, Tex., none of which had been completed and turned over to operation as of that date.


GULF & WEST TEXAS

The Gulf & West Texas is a corporation of the State of Texas, having its principal office at San Antonio, Tex.

It was incorporated August 13, 1927, under the revised statutes of Texas for the purpose of building and operating a line of railroad from the city of San Angelo, Tex., to the city of San Antonio, a distance of approximately 250 miles, and for other purposes.

The Gulf & West Texas was controlled on December 31, 1931, by the Southern Pacific Company, through ownership of a majority of the outstanding capital stock, under authority from us, 170 I. C. C. 43. The records do not indicate that the Gulf & West Texas controls any common-carrier corporation.

The Gulf & West Texas has never operated any railroad property. On December 31, 1931, it did not own any completed railroad. Its proposed road, only partially constructed on that date, extended from Fredericksburg northwesterly through Mason, to Brady; and from Eden northwesterly to San Angelo, about 113 miles, all in the State of Texas, as conditionally authorized in Finance Docket No. 7625, 158 I. C. C. 563.
