The railroad of the Keating and Smethport Railroad Company, hereinafter called the Keating and Smethport, consists of 0.126 mile of single-track line at East Smethport, Pa.


The property of the Keating and Smethport was operated by its own organization from date of acquisition thereof in 1899 to August 8, 1911, and by the carrier from the latter date to date of valuation.

CORPORATE HISTORY

The Keating and Smethport was incorporated August 21, 1899, under the general laws of the State of Pennsylvania. It was organized on date of incorporation.

DEVELOPMENT OF FIXED PHYSICAL PROPERTY

The owned mileage of the Keating and Smethport, amounting to 0.126 mile of road at East Smethport, was acquired by purchase from the Smethport Extract Company in 1899. The recorded original length of the road purchased was approximately 0.80 mile in length, of which 0.674 mile has been abandoned.
