The railroad of the Morgan & Fentress Railway Company, hereinafter called the carrier, is a single-track standard-gauge steam railroad, located in eastern Tennessee. The main line extends westerly from Nemo to Obed Junction, a distance of 17.793 miles. The carrier also owns 2.934 miles of yard tracks and sidings. Its road thus embraces 20.727 miles of all tracks owned and used.

CORPORATE HISTORY

The carrier was incorporated March 17, 1914, under the general laws of the State of Tennessee, for the purpose of acquiring and operating a railroad that was owned by the Tennessee Timber, Coal & Iron Company, and extending said road to [?], Tenn. The date of organization of the carrier was March 17, 1914.

DEVELOPMENT OF FIXED PHYSICAL PROPERTY

The road owned by the carrier, amounting to 17.793 miles, was acquired partly by construction and partly by purchase, as indicated in the following statement:

Acquired by construction, point about 5 miles north of Catoosa to Obed Junction, Tenn., 1915-1918, about 13.00

Acquired by purchase from the Tennessee Timber, Coal & Iron Company, Mar. 17, 1914, constructed by that company, Nemo to point about 5 miles north of Catoosa, Tenn., 1911-1913, about 8.00
