The railroad of Muncie and Western Railroad Company, hereinafter called the carrier, is a single-track, standard-gauge, steam railroad, located in the city of Muncie, Ind. The property consists of a belt railroad connecting various railroads with the industries of Muncie. The owned main line is 0.749 of a mile in length. The carrier also owns yard and side tracks totaling 3.181 miles. Its road thus embraces 3.930 miles of all tracks owned. In Appendix 1 will be found a description of the property of the carrier.


Corporate history.—The carrier was incorporated under the general laws of the State of Indiana, May 12, 1902, for the purpose of constructing and operating a connecting railroad in Delaware County, Ind., approximately 12 miles in length. Its organization was perfected on the same date. On date of valuation the carrier
