The railroad of Ouachita and Northwestern Railroad Company, hereinafter called the carrier, is a single-track standard-gauge steam railroad, located in the north-central part of Louisiana and consists of two disconnected parts. One of the owned portions extends northwesterly from Clarks, La., to a connection with Tremont & Gulf Railway Company, a distance of 25.589 miles. The other owned portion extends easterly from Standard to Summerville, La., a distance of 8.679 miles. The carrier also owns yard and side tracks totaling 6.637 miles. Its road thus embraces 40.905 miles of all tracks owned. In Appendix 1 will be found a general description of the property of the carrier.
