The railroad of The Reading, Marietta and Hanover Railroad Company, hereinafter referred to as the Reading, Marietta and Hanover, which is leased to and operated by the Reading and Columbia, is a single-track, standard-gage steam railroad, extending from Marietta Junction to Chickies, a distance of 6.165 miles. The Reading, Marietta and Hanover also owns yard and side tracks as shown in the trackage table in Appendix 1.


CORPORATE HISTORY

The Reading, Marietta and Hanover was incorporated March 9, 1882, under the general laws of Pennsylvania for the purpose of acquiring the property, rights, and franchises of the Hanover Junction and Susquehanna Railroad Company [organized in 1876], which had been sold at foreclosure on September 15, 1881.
