Location and General Description of Property[edit]

The railroad of The Sunday Creek Railroad Company, hereinafter called the Sunday Creek Railroad, is a single-track branch line, located entirely within the State of Ohio and extends from Sayre to San Toy, a distance of 4.277 miles. This property is separated from other lines of the Baltimore and Ohio system and is reached by means of trackage rights.

Introductory[edit]

The Sunday Creek Railroad is a corporation of Ohio, having its principal office at Newark, Ohio. It is controlled by the Baltimore and Ohio through ownership of capital stock. The records do not indicate that this company, itself, controls any other common-carrier corporation. The property of the Sunday Creek Railroad was operated by the Baltimore and Ohio from October 1, 1903, the date of its completion, to December 31, 1917. Since January 1, 1918, it has been operated by the United States Railroad Administration as part of the Baltimore and Ohio system.

Corporate History[edit]

The Sunday Creek Railroad was incorporated May 28, 1901, under the general laws of Ohio.

Development of Fixed Physical Property[edit]

The owned road extending from San Toy to Sayre, Ohio, 4.277 miles, was constructed by the Baltimore and Ohio for account of the former during the period 1901 to 1903.

Leased Railway Property[edit]

The entire property is operated as a part of the Baltimore and Ohio system as stated in the report on the Baltimore and Ohio.
