APPENDIX 2
DEVELOPMENT OF FIXED PHYSICAL PROPERTY

The road owned by the carrier on date of valuation was constructed in part by it and purchased in part from the Norfolk and Western Railway Company. The section Matewan to coal tipple, 1.367 miles, was constructed partly by contract and partly by the carrier with funds advanced by the Norfolk and Western Railway Company, and opened for operation in July, 1915. The sections Delorme and Cedar to coal tipples were purchased from the Norfolk and Western Railway Company by deeds dated June 23, 1915, effective as of July 1, 1915. The first-named section was constructed by the Majestic Collieries Company, which sold it to the Norfolk and Western Railway Company. The latter sold it to the carrier. The second-named section was constructed by the Freeburn Coal and Coke Company, which sold it to the Norfolk and Western Railway Company. The branch was purchased by the carrier.
