The railroad of the West Pittston – Exeter Railroad Company, hereinafter called the carrier, is a single-track, standard-gage, steam railroad, located in northeastern Pennsylvania. The main line extends northerly from Forest Castle, near West Pittston, to the Stanton power plant, a distance of 2.245 miles. The carrier also owns 0.666 mile of yard tracks and sidings. Its road thus embraces 2.911 miles of all tracks owned and used.

CORPORATE HISTORY

The carrier was incorporated July 16, 1925, under general laws of Pennsylvania for the purpose of constructing and operating a railroad from a connection with the tracks of Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad Company near its Susquehanna Avenue station in West Pittston to Stanton, Pa. The date of organization was August 5, 1925.

The railroad was acquired by construction between July 1, 1925, and March 1, 1927, under certificate of public convenience issued by Public Service Commission of Pennsylvania June 30, 1925, and authority granted by us, 111 I.C.C. 626. It was constructed partly by The Foundation Company, a non-
