The railroad of the Williamsport, Nessle and Martinsburg Railway Company, herein called the Williamsport, Nessle and Martinsburg, is a single-track branch line, located in West Virginia, extending from Nessle Junction to Nessle, 0.670 mile. This road forms a continuation of the Western Maryland's branch line between Charlton, Md., and Nessle Junction, W. Va.


CORPORATE HISTORY

The Williamsport, Nessle and Martinsburg was incorporated February 22, 1913, under the general laws of West Virginia, for the purpose of building a railroad from a point on the Potomac River, opposite Williamsport, Md., to the city of Martinsburg, all in Berkeley County, W. Va. The company was organized March 22, 1913.

DEVELOPMENT OF FIXED PHYSICAL PROPERTY

The owned mileage of the Williamsport, Nessle and Martinsburg, amounting to 0.670 mile was acquired by construction. The work was begun in March, 1913, and the road opened for operation on July 7, 1915.
