List of issues[edit]

Mostly minor, so put here to avoid cluttering up the FAC page.

  • "Most successful club in Sweden" needs some kind of qualifier. In terms of league titles won? Total trophies won?
  • "As of 2010" is usually helpful, but to see it twice in as many sentences in the lead is a little jarring.
  • "Many started to believe that the club's first Swedish Championship was close" - an example of weasel wording.
  • "The rivalry between Malmö FF and Helsingborgs IF has existed since Malmö FF were promoted up to Allsvenskan in the 1930s, and has a geographical element" - if it is one of several elements, what are the others? If it is primarily geographic, say so directly.
  • "Following the 2004 victory in Allsvenskan,[48] voices were raised for the construction of a new stadium in Malmö" Presumably a translation issue. "Voices were raised" doesn't make much sense.
  • As a rule of thumb, staff members who are not notable enough for their own article should not be listed. The kit man and masseur are not important.

A couple more:

  • In 2005 the club were one match away from qualifying for the UEFA Champions League but suffered a shock defeat against FC Thun. Why was this regarded as a shock? Swedish clubs have rarely reached the group stages in the 21st century, and Thun were higher in the UEFA rankings at the time.
Agree, this is leaning towards POV. Reworded to In 2005 the club reached the last qualifying round for the UEFA Champions League but were defeated by FC Thun. Is this better? --Reckless182 (talk) 21:04, 10 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I think its a good illustration of the clubs recent history but you might be correct. I did a quick check and couldn't find a football club FA with something simular. Should I remove and wikilink to List of Malmö FF seasons somewhere else in the article instead? --Reckless182 (talk) 21:04, 10 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
