Subspecies Article Creation[edit]

Hello! I wanted to help with some of the articles requested here- but one thing is that many of them are noted as subspecies, and I'm unsure how to handle whether or not a subspecies is notable. Are they generally all notable? I've seen a lot of subspecies with separate articles, but also a lot of red links to subspecies (indicating they don't have pages and/or may not be notable). Just curious to know if there's any kind of policy or guideline for this; I'm new to editing bird-related articles so there might be some common policy I've missed.
