Default assessment of stub article importance within the project[edit]

To provide a framework for consistency within the project, members are encouraged to assess these articles in a manner consistent with the WikiProject Logic assessment page. Currently, the assessment page provides no guidance on rating the importance of articles. I have begun tagging the logic stub articles as {{Logic2}} with a stub rating as a logical thing to do, but I have so far ignored rating those articles for importance. Unless someone has an objection or better suggestion, I will start tagging all of those stub articles as "mid-importance", so long as everyone understands that this is merely a default selection on my part in light of the current absence of importance rating criteria in the project. Very well; blank it is. The project could benefit from some sense of itself in terms of how important any particular class of logic articles should be. There are articles on "classic" texts, their authors, theories, software of which some is known while some is extremely obscure or obsolete, and it would not seem logical to hold that the relative importance of those articles is not material to the work of project members. Don't get me wrong. If you have a sense of the importance or grade of an article to the Logic project put it in. By all means. I'm just saying that if you wait until after Monday, it will be much easier. Stay cool... Gregbard 06:00, 20 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This is cool, being invited into a wiki-project where initiative is helpful. I am looking forward to seeing the results of the bot invocation as those results should be helpful in the later importance assessment of all articles in the project. Hotfeba 19:47, 20 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Proposal[edit]

These are some ideas I had for assessment:

In the interest of furthering and preserving the integrity of the WikiProkect Logic Assessment, the following shall apply to all project pages...

It shall be the goal of WikiProject Logic to expand each and every article under its banner to its maximum level of quality.
It shall be the goal of WikiProject Logic to bring as many articles as possible to the "Featured Article" level of quality.
WikiProject Logic shall attempt to integrate content so as to maximize the overall quality of WikiProject Logic.
For articles which fall under one or more other WikiProjects; in no case shall the article grade designated under WikiProject Logic be greater than the lowest grade designated by any other WikiProject assessment. (or perhaps limit to just math and philosophy)
Members and supporters of WikiProject Logic are encouraged to collaborate with other WikiProjects in the achievement of our mutual goals.
