Yummy is a digital media company founded by IDN Media which provides tutorial content for cooking, food, recipes, and culinary exploration in Indonesia.[2][3][4]

History[edit]

Yummy was launched on 8 July 2016, and was originally available on social media platforms Facebook and Instagram.[5] On 8 July 2019, Yummy launched a mobile application called Yummy App that allows visitors to upload and search user-created original recipes.[6][7][8] The app is available for both Android and iOS devices.[9]

Events[edit]

In December 2020, Yummy hosted a virtual culinary event named Indonesia Memasak by Yummy (English: Indonesia Cooking by Yummy).[10] The event was themeed "Explore Nusantara Cuisine" and inspired by a variety of Indonesian culinary recipes.[11] Indonesia Memasak by Yummy has several series of events with online cooking class, talk show, F&B workshop, entertainment, and online bazaar which is attended by culinary practitioners such as William Wongso (Chef), Max Mandias (Co-founder and Executive Chef at Burgreens), Mandif Warokka (Owner and Executive Chef at Teatro Gastroteque in Bali), Ade Putri (Culinary storyteller and Co-founder of Beergemberia, Natasha Halim (Chubby Traveler), Kevindra Soemantri (MasterChef Indonesia Season 1 contestant), Martin Praja, Venithya Calista, and Ibra Isman.[12]

Awards[edit]

In 2019, Yummy App received a nomination at the Google Play Users Choice Awards 2019 within the Users Choice App category.[13] In 2020, at the Asia Digital Media Awards 2020 organized by World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (WAN-IFRA), the Yummy App won an award in the categories Best in Lifestyle, Sports, Entertainment Website or Mobile Services.[14]
