Kallad is a small village situated in Kothamangalam, approximately 5 Km away from Kothamangalam. It lies between the Keerampara village and the small town of Chelad. The village is home to approximately 500 families.

Geography and Wildlife[edit]

Kallad hosts diverse wildlife, including Indian fox, various crane bird species, sparrows, rabbits, parrot, and more. The aquatic ecosystem comprises fishes like snakehead and the Indian long fin eel (Anguilla bengalensis).

Demographics[edit]

The population primarily consists of Jacobite Christians and Hindus.

Economy[edit]

The village's economy revolves around agriculture, predominantly paddy fields, coconut cultivation, fish farming, and rubber tree plantations.

Attractions[edit]

A significant attraction is Ayyappanmudi, a renowned mount in the area and near to Vadattupara Forest
