MeTV Toons is an upcoming 24-hour cable television channel operated by Weigel Broadcasting Co. in-partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery. Set to launch on June 25, 2024 as a spin-off of MeTV, the network's programming mainly consists of reruns involving vintage animated programming, including a few that aired up until the 2000s, in a similar format to the first few years of Cartoon Network and Boomerang.
The cartoons featured on the main MeTV network in the morning hours, such as Looney Tunes, Merrie Melodies, Tom and Jerry, Popeye and Woody Woodpecker to name a few, will be included. Other classic cartoons not on the block will also be included, such as Scooby-Doo, Yogi Bear and Casper the Friendly Ghost, among many others. Classic anime titles, such as Speed Racer and Marine Boy, will also air on the network. MeTV Toons will feature original short-form content developed alongside animation historian Jerry Beck, but no new animation will be produced for the network. Bob Bergen, the current voice actor for Porky Pig, is set to be the promotional announcer for the network.
On May 1, 2024, Variety and TVLine revealed Weigel would partner with Warner Bros. Discovery to launch MeTV Toons, a 24/7 free-to-air television network dedicated to broadcasting classic animated programs, on June 25, 2024. The following day, Weigel officially announced the launch of the channel.[1]
