Leonid Oleskiyovych Cherneha (Ukrainian: Леонід Олексійович Чернега; born on 8 February 1944), is a Ukrainian politician who had served as the 1st Mayor of Odesa from 1991 to 1994.[2][1][3]

Biogrpahy[edit]

Leonid Chernha was born on 8 February 1944.[1]

He began his working career at the Kislorodmash plant as a designer and shop manager.[1]

He graduated from the Odessa Institute of National Economy.[1]

He worked as 2nd secretary of the Ilyichevsky Regional Committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine, chairman of the Ilyichevsky district executive committee of Odessa, deputy chairman of the Odessa City Executive Committee.[1]

On 24 March 1992, Chernha became the first mayor of Odesa.[1][4]

After transferring the power in 1994 to Eduard Hurvits,[5] he became deputy president of the Mirmex concern.[1]

In December 2016, Cherneha won a tender for the renovation of a residential building on Moldavanka for 1.5 million hyrvnias within the company Evader.[6]
