List of temples in the United States (LDS Church)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church), a temple is a building dedicated to be a House of the Lord. Church members consider temples to be the most sacred structures on earth.

The LDS Church has 350 temples in various phases, which includes 191 dedicated temples (with 186 operating, and 6 previously-dedicated, but closed for renovation[1]), 50 under construction, and 109 others announced (not yet under construction). There are temples in most U.S. states, Puerto Rico, and Guam.

  1. ^ The Anchorage Alaska Temple is being relocated and resized. While the construction of the larger temple is being constructed in the new location, the current temple is open and will be decomissioned and demolished once the new temple is dedicated.
