Audie Murphy plane crash was just created by Samf4u. It was not Murphy's plane, and he wasn't the only passenger who died. I suggest a renaming of the article, but I don't know what. Any suggestions? — Maile (talk) 22:12, 9 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Assuming we really need the page (I would lean to a merge with Audie Murphy), I think "Aero Commander 680 Super crash" fits the general syntax of crash page names.--Jim in Georgia Contribs Talk 15:36, 10 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

First off, if you read the article you'd know that the plane was owned by Colorado Aviation which was a subsidiary of Telestar. Murphy was the Director of Telestar. Second, change the name to anything you want, I don't care, but merging w/the Audie Murphy article is out of the question. At 70K the article is large. Adding another 11K would be a little much. Well, I would agree on not merging with the Audie Murphy article. It made it to FA like it is, and there was a lot of editing back and forth over that section. I'm happy to leave the Audie Murphy article alone. I don't even want to mess with editing with the plane crash article, since it seems well done. I just question the name of it. If it is any help, and in a similar vein, I would have searched for Lynyrd Skynyrd air crash, but it turns out that crash is at 1977 Convair CV-300 crash. I never really cared for the title. Perhaps it should be changed. Mjroots suggestion would be correct. It's a little long and unfortunately can't be shortened because another Aero Commander 680 crashed in Dec. 1971 at New Orleans. Samf4u (talk) 21:28, 11 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The Mountain where the crash happened is not Brushy Mountain, it is Brush Mountain. Please correct this error soon as it is embarrassing.[edit]

I used to run with my track team on the mountain on a very regular basis.

Crash Location[edit]

Brushy Mountain is much closer to Maggie, Virginia than Catawba and Catawba is in Roanoke County, not Craig County. WhoAmIYouDoNotKnow (talk) 20:15, 5 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
