LCFC season 1977-1978[edit]

When Frank McLintintock was appointed manager, I thought (correctly, as it turned out) that it would be a disastrous season. I wasn't wrong. McLintock had no idea, sold all the best players, bought useless ones, and couldn't motivate for toffee. Things were so bad I even contemplated supporting Forest instead (didn't work out). In summary, LCFC started the season with a decent team and some top players (Worthington, Rofe, Whitworth, Sammels, Wallington, etc.), but ended up bottom of the division with an appalling record and an unrecognisably bad team. Great stuff, Frank (and jeers to the board who appointed him). 79.71.248.133 (talk) 10:36, 6 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
