Does not the last line of the epitaph—OBIIT ERA M SEXAGESIMA QUINTA III NAS M—say that Alfonso "died in the Era 1065 on the third nones of March"? Both the year (that would be 1027 of our era) and the date (5 March) our out of synch with what Martínez Diez says (and I have that book, so I checked and he definitely says 7 August 1028). Am I misinterpreting the epitaph or is it wrong? Or Martínez Diez wrong? He doesn't cite a primary source, but appears to be relying on Fernández del Pozo (1999). Will look further into that since I have one of the works by del Pozo on Alfonso V and Vermudo III, but many of the epitaphs were carved or created years after the event and many often have the dates wrong. --Maragm (talk) 06:59, 1 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
