Year of establishment[edit]
The club website is quite clear that they were formed in 1946 by a merger and in 1947 the club adopted its current name, which is different to being newly-established. Why they claim to have been founded in 1947 is beyond me, as it's clearly not the case. I notice the history page also incorrectly states they joined the East Midland Regional League in 1966 when it was actually 1967. Number 57 11:47, 22 August 2017 (UTC)
- I am aware that technically you are correct, the club was on paper formed in 1946, this is even presented on Bartholomew's Football Map, which I came across a few year back and brought to the club, but for whatever reason the club has maintained they have been going since 1947, in regards to EMRL, I think this comes from an incorrectly copied date from the old wikipedia description, and before the club ran through the archives to find each table.

- Thanks for the response. It's odd that the the club is maintaining a foundation date in error (I appreciate it would probably be a bit embarrassing to admit it this year given that they are celebrating their 70th), but it doesn't mean that Wikipedia has to go along with it when we know they are wrong.

- Thanks for the clarification, I understand (unlike most teachers) that Wikipedia strives to be as accurate as possible, and avoiding 'Fake Facts' such as this, makes the level of information (even on obscure subjects) that much more reliable.
- Bartie's map is great, a beautiful piece of Football past, I believe made in 1972 featuring all English Football League club badges, info and kit on the map, with either 50 or 100 Non league sides seemingly chosen at random making up the rest of Crests.
