Aporia (Sufjan Stevens and Lowell Brams album)Aporia (Lowell Brams and Sufjan Stevens album) – Per alphabetical order, the actual cover, and sources such as https://www.allmusic.com/album/aporia-mw0003355244Justin (koavf)TCM 07:54, 24 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose. There are just as many sources that order Sufjan Stevens first, like all streaming and download platforms Apple Music/iTunes, Tidal, Spotify. All audio uploads on Stevens' YouTube channel credit him first, for example the upload of "Agathon", as well as the full album crediting him first. Alphabetization of artists' name in a disambiguator is not a thing we do, because in some instances, there is one artist who is clearly the primary artist, far more well-known and the reason most people would even know about the album (Sufjan Stevens) compared to the other artist who, while they may have contributed a great deal, has been given equal credit in the title for whatever reason we don't know about (sometimes it's a way of getting an artist's name noticed; sometimes labels lobby to give their artists equal credit). The order in which artists' names are placed on either side of a cover is also not a great reason—we cannot say the graphic designer or the artists necessarily intended Abrams to be credited as the lead artist by placing him on the left; the reason could be as simple as aesthetics without much care given to who comes first left-to-right. More readers will benefit from having Stevens' name first, as he is clearly the reason anyone knows about the album, and as this is the way he is credited on platforms people may access the music from. Ss112, Which policy or guideline says to include the more popular recording artist first in disambiguation? ―Justin (koavf)TCM 22:33, 24 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I never claimed it was a guideline. That's a point I brought up after just a sample of sources that list Stevens first, which is the primary reason I oppose moving it. Please don't ping me. I created this page, so it's redundant. Thank you. Ss112 22:53, 24 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
What do pinging and creating a redirect have to do with one another? ―Justin (koavf)TCM 19:02, 25 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't just create the redirect, I started the article. I assume most users creating an article would put said article on their watchlist. At least, I do, and I don't know why someone wouldn't want to. So therefore I see changes made to it and its talk page, and don't need a ping. Ss112 19:21, 25 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. I agree with all the points Ss112 made. Most people searching for this album will know this as a Sufjan album, not a Brams-Stevens album. --D1119 (talk) 22:00, 24 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
D1119, Who wouldn't be able to find it if searching for the artists in a different order? How would that change anything? ―Justin (koavf)TCM 19:03, 25 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. It can be argued both ways, and doesn't change anything much as the redirect is already in place. Let us move on. Andrewa (talk) 16:18, 1 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
