Away at the griffin[edit]

i recently saw a production of away the the stables in kings cross and it was fantastic. i cried throughout the whole second act. the reason i did go to see the play, although it is included in my school syllabus and i will probably be reading it for the HSC, was that the play was actually set at my high school, that is, The Jannali High School. i know this as the writer, Michael Gow, attented the school with my father. A Midsummer Nights Dream was also performed at the school in the late 60's, which is performed in the opening scene of the play. the man who loses his son to the vietnam war and whose wife seems a bit crazy was also based on the principal of the school at the time. regards, elizabeth milner the jannali high school yr11 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 220.239.242.77 (talkcontribs) 09:47, 13 September 2006‎

Key Productions[edit]

What makes a production of the play a "key production"?

I'm guessing the production would have to be notable in some way. From what I see, there is nothing notable about many of the productions in the section and most are performed by English students from random schools, most in Australia. Many schools don't have Wikipedia pages and people have wikilinked Year 10/11 students.

I think this section needs to be cleaned up, or deleted outright. If I felt like it, I could add my school's in-class production and claim it was a key production.

Away (play)[edit]

Shouldn't this page be called Away (play)? the title seems a bit too ambiguous —Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.168.235.88 (talk) 10:42, 31 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

– per 58.168.235.88 (talk) above. The use of a common English word as a title is inherently ambiguous, and since a disambiguation page exists, it should be at that title. 174.141.182.82 (talk) 05:54, 19 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support Away (sports) has more of a claim to PT than the play but think Away would be best for the disambiguation page. Zarcadia (talk) 12:37, 19 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. A substantial number of incoming links intend the sports sense. Clearly the play lacks primacy. bd2412 T 20:04, 19 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
