Campion is NOT in the Dicoese of La Crosse[edit]

Jesuit Institutions do not report to Diocese Bishops. They report to their provincial superiors who in turn report to Rome.

That doesn't mean that a Jesuit might not work for a Parish which reports to the Dicoese Bishop in regards to the Diocese Church.

Campion JHS did not report to the Diocese so you should remove the phrase implying they were in the La Crosse Diocese.

Diocese of La Crosse[edit]

But the point is, it is added information which is non-sequitur. There is no historical context involving the Diocese of La Crosse and the Jesuit Institution, Campion Jesuit H.S. The diocese of La Crosse has nothing to do with Jesuits institutions. We might as well say that the Diocese of La Crosse is within the Wisconsin Provence of the Society of Jesus. But that too would be in error since the Diocese doesn't report to the Jesuit Order. The two are independent and do not meet until you get to the Vatican.

To leave the reference in implies that the institution, Campion, somehow was under the control of the Bishop of the La Crosse Diocese. It never was and never could have been unless the Bishop were to buy the institution from the Jesuit Order.

There is a big difference between Diocesan Priests and the Order of the Jesuits. Parish priests report to the Diocesan Bishop who report to the Vatican. Jesuits Institutions report to provincial superiors who report to the Vatican. Jesuits, as well as some other Orders are independent of Diocesen Bishops.

You have an excellent point; I have deleted the Diocese of La Crosse information from the Campion High School article. However, will you consider registering with Wikipedia. Categories[edit]

I added some categories relating to the History of Wisconsin, Crawford County and the Jesuits. At the same time I removed the Wisconsin High school stub, since Campion High School no longers functions as a school. Finally, I wish Wikipedia would require anonymous editors register with Wikipedia!!!! It would make things far easier especially with communication. Thank you-RFD 13:44, 16 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Crawford County, Wisconsin[edit]

Crawford County, Wisconsin is in the Diocese of La Crosse. And Campion High School was listed as one of the Catholic institutes under the Diocese of La Crosse. But I will go along with your request and deleted the Diocese of La Crosse from the article. Please add the citation and information to the Keith Szarabajka article that he went to Campion High School and then add his name to the notable people section. There is no mention that in the Keith Szarabajka article of he going to Campion HS. Please make the changes to the Szarabajka article. Thank you-RFD (talk) 10:25, 18 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
