Their website is not very illuminating. Hard to know what they actually do in practical terms, We don't know who funds them either, business groups presumably, which is why they don't advertise the fact. I agree, @ෆාට් බුබුල. I suggested that students in my Applied Ecology course consider adding references to ecological society webpages, such as the Canadian Society for Ecology and Evolution, which doesn't have its own page, but instead redirects here. Students told me in class that they didn't know how to fix this page and were too inexperienced with editing wikipedia to deal with the odd redirect. I am finally having a look at what they told me.
