Notability[edit]

Hi @Filmforme, I doubt that she would pass Wikipedia:Notability (people), the sources are about her winning Miss Suisse Romande, a regional beauty pageant, not Miss Switzerland as linked in the lead. Best Lewolka (talk) 10:10, 6 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for clarifying, I removed those WikiLinks. The significant coverage in old papers isn't enough? In addition to their filmography and nominations? Filmforme (talk) 19:48, 6 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Three secondary RS with significant coverage and independent of the subject.

Elling, Regina (2023-10-03). "Pacific Beach residents star in horror comedy perfect for Halloween". PB Monthly.

Holsen, Matt (2019-06-25). "Brand USA in Sioux Falls shooting eastern South Dakota tourism video". KELO-TV.

Calame, Blaise (2005-12-28). "Elles se denudent pour les marines". L'Illustré (in French) (52): 30–31 – via Scriptorium Digital Library.

Délèze, Thierry (1997-05-06). "Vivre heureuse et sans regrets". La presse Riviera/Chablais (in French) (104): 1, 32 – via Scriptorium Digital Library.

Pinol, Christophe (2022-07-25). "Caroline Amiguet, une comédienne vaudoise à la poursuite du rêve américain". Le Temps (in French). ISSN 1423-3967. Retrieved 2023-04-23. Filmforme (talk) 21:59, 12 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Lewolka I am resubmitting for further review, please choose to skip this. @S0091 Filmforme (talk) 22:03, 12 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Those references were already in the article and do not constitute significant coverage. Two articles from 1997: one in a TV program magazine and the other in a regional newspaper, both about that person becoming Miss Suisse Romande, a regional contest. Third one is behind a paywall; Not enough for Wikipedia:Notability (people) Please do not resubmit this article unless you can provide new sources showing notability. At the moment this is looking a lot like WP:PROMO and you insistence may also be showing WP:CONFLICT Thank you. Lewolka (talk) 10:46, 13 May 2023 (UTC) edited Lewolka (talk) 11:39, 13 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
They look like RS to me. And the paywalls seem to be where a lot of the coverage is. I found this one, and replaced it with an archive link I found.
Bertschy, Pascal (2012-08-06). "Je voulais apprendre à me connaître!". La Liberté: 3, 23 – via e-newspaperarchives.ch. Does not seem like it is entirely independent of the subject, but enough of it may be. French is not a language I am familiar with, so I am basically running off translation.
If I am persistent, it is not because of bias. It's that I want another opinion. I believe there is enough here, and while I value your feedback on the matter, I was hoping for another user's analysis. I was advised to edit from your responses, add what I consider the three best articles to the talk page, and resubmit for another user to look at. I have considered publishing, but I am still left with my opinion vs yours. Filmforme (talk) 19:14, 13 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Filmforme This is not about the sources not being RS, but that they only mention her as Miss Suisse Romande, a regional contest. Per WP:NBEAUTY: “Winners of sub-national level pageants or subsidiary awards (e.g., Miss Virgin Islands, Miss Congeniality, Miss World Beach Beauty) are usually not notable for such per se, even if they have won more than one’. Miss Suisse Romande falls in the sub-national level pageants category and therefore cannot constitute notability.
As a Model, according to the source you provided, she did ONE photo shoot for FINE Magazine which is a magazine published locally in San Diego, this is far for “significant coverage” and again enough to constitute notability.
As an Actor she needs to show “significant roles in multiple notable films, television shows, stage performances, or other productions”, the references you provided, which include a stage reading and tourist videos, do not show that but trivial mentions. I also find it strange that you also have written the article about her husband's first movie which btw I am not sure can pass Wikipedia:Notability (films). Lewolka (talk) 16:46, 14 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for going more in depth about this. With the added detail, your assessment now makes much more sense to me. And now I see why you think there is WP:CONFLICT here. I start drafts for a lot of films, and I do look to check out the people involved. This is the only time I've come across someone who has this much coverage where notability can't be established, and until now, I did not understand why.
