Birth Date[edit]

I've been looking high and low for his exact date of birth and death and have found nothing. I have extrapolated his date of birth from the referencing stating he was 88 when he died in 1868. I will keep looking but other than that this article has all the information added I have been able to find. Charles Edward 01:20, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Consistency, please?[edit]

First, in the synopsis: "There is no known relationship between Harrison and an early territorial governor of Indiana, William Henry Harrison."

Then, in the biography section: "His family was aristocratic and he was distantly related to William Henry Harrison."

They are distantly related, but they had no personal interaction during their lives, there is no evidence the two ever met. Charles Edward 02:53, 7 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

To be fair, I added the part about them not being related. I thought anyone studying Indiana history would think they were connected, so I added that to prevent the confusion. Looks I didn't succeed.--Bedford ^Pray 03:09, 7 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I removed that unsourced claim, which doesn't seem to be supported by a brief search of genealogical materials. The Biographical and Historical Sketches of Early Indiana includes multi-page biogrpahies of both men but makes no mention of any relation. W.H. Harrison was from a well-documented family of Virginia Harrisons, and the sketch for Christopher mentions that his family emigrated from England to Maryland, meaning any relationship would have to be at least six generations back, as that's how far back W.H.'s family goes in the Americas. --Dhartung | Talk 04:31, 7 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I will have go back and read the book to find the exact quote, but Chrisopher Harrison's family was fairly recently imigrated from england and his family was lower artistocracy - WHH family was also artistocracy of the same Harrison family but had moved to Virginia something like a hundred years before CH. So they were like distant cousins. But if you want to you remove it that is fine, it is not particularly relevant other than to point out that the two Harrisons had no interactions.
