Knights Templar - dubious[edit]

The Victoria History of Buckinghamshire: Creslow (under Advowson) reports that the rights to the parish were disputed in 1276 and were confirmed to the Prior at that time, albeit with right to challenge it again. The Knights Templar were suppressed just 31 years in 1307 but the VHoB does not report any further challenge (or could not find any?). If it were in the hands of Templars, a claim would surely have arisen. There is no reason to believe that the Priory was not always a Hospitaler one. We would need solid evidence to say otherwise. --John Maynard Friedman (talk) 23:09, 22 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. I have deleted the Templars reference as unsubstantiated. --John Maynard Friedman (talk) 23:24, 12 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
