Fair use rationale for Image:Crush insert.jpg[edit]

Image:Crush insert.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Which re-releases and remixes to include in the Track Listing, and how[edit]

Before my edits, the Track Listing was excessively long to the point of reducing accessibility. I consolidated similar releases into three track listings, with differences noted (and cited) where needed. However, I have moved the following track listings to the talk page because I question their inclusion on the page, and they take up more space than even the main releases:

Track Listing
Crush (Reloaded) January 29, 2010
No.TitleLength
1."Crush (Reloaded) (Chris Rockford & DJ CrEdo Edit)"3:48
2."Crush (Reloaded) (Chris Rockford & DJ CrEdo Remix)"5:02
3."Crush (Reloaded) (Max Farenthide Remix)"5:32
4."Crush (Reloaded) (Giorgio Sainz Remix)"7:09
5."Crush (Reloaded) (Mike MD's Pop-Matic-Mix)"6:10
Maxi-Single
No.TitleLength
1."Crush (Chris Rockford & DJ CrEdo Remix)"5:02
2."Crush (Chris Rockford & DJ CrEdo Edit)"3:49
3."Crush (Max Farenthide Remix)"5:32
4."Crush (Max Farenthide Edit)"3:06
5."Crush (Giorgio Sainz Remix)"7:10
6."Crush (Giorgio Sainz Edit)"3:11
7."Crush (Jewelz Remix)"6:16
8."Crush (Mark Reeve's Strictly Groovin Remix)"6:42
9."Crush (The Teachers Remix)"7:33
10."Crush (The Teachers Edit)"3:25
11."Crush (Joey Chicago Remix)"6:03
12."Crush (Joey Chicago Edit)"4:33
13."Crush (Mike MD's Pop-Matic Mix)"6:10
14."Crush (Mike MD's Pop-Matic Edit)"4:05
The Remixes November 20, 2000
No.TitleLength
1."Crush (Klippa Remix Radio Edit)"
2."Crush (David Morales Alt. Club Body)"
3."Crush (Original Version)"

Should re-releases and later remixes be included in the Track Listing section? If so, is there any limit? There are many other releases, including various Vinyl, cassette, and remix collections. I would assume re-releases with the same songs do not warrant inclusion, but what about the remix albums? These Chris Rockford releases don't strike me as warranting an article of their own, and while they are related to the topic, I'm not convinced they are the content expected in this article. On the other hand, I hesitate to delete the information without putting it somewhere, and it's reasonable that a reader might search for this article with an interest in finding all the remixes of the song.

One option is to include them, but move them to a different section or otherwise get them out of the way. The track listing template is collapsible, but that is discouraged by the Manual_of_Style#Scrolling_lists_and_collapsible_content. The remix releases could be summarized in prose, with a citation as a way of obtaining more information.

The other option is to remove them outright. My interpretation of WP:IINFO is that listing too many releases and track lists would constitute treating the article like a database, which is not the intention. Most song articles, especially the good ones, have a pretty sparse list of releases, though try as I might to find a guide for determining which releases warrant inclusion and which don't, I have failed to come across any consensus or anything more than a few lines stating, essentially, "include a track listing for singles."

Let me know what you think the best action is for this article, and if you find or start a discussion on the best practices for the track lists of singles in general, please invite me. Dylansan (talk) 18:53, 15 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
