Picture of the point[edit]

I have a pick of the point itself... would anyone find that useful, instead of only pics FROM the point? QFL 24-7 bla ¤ cntrb ¤ kids ¤ pics ¤ vids 04:52, 16 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

In the article's current state, it has too many images for the little amount of text. I would advise against adding more images, however, if the image you have is superior to the ones currently used, I would support replacing an existing image. Another option is to upload the image to Commons at commons:Category:Dead Horse Point State Park, which is the image gallery linked in this article. Dave (talk) 05:27, 16 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
True... if it is OK, I will replace one since they are all of the same thing. Maybe the box pic is the best choice, because should the 'point' be in the pic of Dead Horse Point? QFL 24-7 bla ¤ cntrb ¤ kids ¤ pics ¤ vids 01:23, 17 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
In my opinion, the lowest quality image is the movie, the highest is the panorama. I agree all 3 images are taken from essentially the same vantage point, and more variety would help. I don't know the quality of the image you have, but assuming it is as good or better than the lead image, what I would do is remove the animated image completely, and replace the lead with yours. If the quality is not as good as the lead image, I would probably put it on the commons gallery, where the discussion can be continued after seeing the image. I would argue that it is in fact more important to have the lead photograph be the view from the point rather than of the point from outside the state park. The value is that it shows off the famous and quintessential view, a visualization of the visitor experience to Dead Horse Point State Park. Speaking as a resident of another part of the US, I can say that the view is well-known but the park not so much. You want page visitors to recognize "Hey, I've seen that view; now I know where it was taken." Plus the fact that there are several very nice sunrise or sunset pictures on Commons makes me recommend switching out the lead photo here. Any objections? --McGhiever (talk) 15:09, 5 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
That is fine, though, I think there needs to be at least one of the point on the page. QFL 24-7 bla ¤ cntrb ¤ kids ¤ pics ¤ vids 17:54, 7 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
