Demonstrator 975[edit]

EMD Demonstrator F9A #975 was built in February 1953! See A J Kristopans GM Serial Number webpage. --SSW9389 (talk) 13:37, 28 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

EMD 462[edit]

EMD 462 is a very odd case. It is NOT actually a built-new F9, but in reality was built using the carbody of traded-in CNW F7 6501A. This puts it in the same category as the UP and SP F3 to F9 conversions which reused the F3 bodies. Even though a new serial was assigned, it is NOT a new body. Therefore it should not be counted and the total revised down from 100 to 99.

Also added in KCS F9 rebuilds 55B and 70B which I discoverede are also missing from my site!

Rio Grande 5531[edit]

Rio Grande F9 5531 is order 7516, which means it is NOT technically a "wreck rebuild". 7500 orders designated "trade-ins", so F3 5531 was actually traded in on an F9, which is considered an "all-new" units. 5571, on the other hand, is order 8032, which means that F7 5571 was "rebuilt" to an F9. Practically, it probably entailed almost exactly the same thing, but from a financial standpoint 5571 contrinuted more to the F9 than 5531 did!
